The tethered drone system consists of connecting the drone to a “micro-cable” allowing the drone to be powered but also to broadcast a live video. This solution is ideal for monitoring and securing cultural or sporting events such as those we have covered in 2019: the French Grand Prix, the aerial meeting Ferté Alais, the « plages Electroniques » or the NRJ Music Awards.
The automatic drone system allows the programming of perimeter rounds and launching deployment to hotspot following an alarm. The system can also perform a launch deployment to hotspot during a patrol by using their “Click and Go” function. It is housed in a docking station allowing the drone to take off, land and reload automatically after the flight.
These two ISS Spotter systems are both different and complementary. While the tethered drone solution has an «unlimited» energy autonomy thanks to its cable, the autonomy of an automatic solution is limited to 25 minutes.
These two solutions are equipped with high-performance onboard optics allowing high-definition video feedback as well as thermal transmission to the Security Control Center of a so-called «sensitive» site or during a public event.
The tethered drone system has the particularity of being able to deploy easily and in many places, subject to a civil aviation authorisation and requires to be operated by a drone pilot holder of the Patent. The automatic solution also requires simple training on the complete system operation. All the functions of this second solution are programmed and computer-assisted to avoid any human error. The installation is complex and must be the subject of a precise study before being installed on an industrial site.
Depending on the demand, the automatic, the tethered or both drones can be deployed and provide reinforcement of the security services to protect individuals and property, in addition to traditional human means.
